The following data are released for every participant:
- At least one 6-minute resting state fMRI scan (R-fMRI), in MNI152 3mm standard space *
- Participant-specific white matter and CSF masks
- Behavioral assessments and phenotypic information **
* Most participants have 2 R-fMRI scans, collected less than 1 hour apart in the same scanning session. Rest_1 is always collected first.
** Behavioral and phenotypic data are currently only available for the cocaine-dependent participants. Corresponding data for the control participants will be made available at a later date.
To protect the privacy of these participants (given potential legal implications of having admitted to illegal substance usage), the R-fMRI scans have been transformed into MNI152 3mm standard space. Two versions of each R-fMRI scan are released for each participant: one transformed using a non-linear registration algorithm (FNIRT), the other using a 12-DOF linear transformation (FLIRT). Raw anatomic and functional data may be made available to interested parties (for unrestricted non-commercial use) via a formal institutional data-sharing agreement (contact clareDOTkellyATnyumcDOTorg). The following preprocessing steps were performed on each R-fMRI scan:
- Removal of the first 4 timepoints
- Slice-timing correction (for ascending interleaved acquisition)
- Reorientation to RPI
- Registration to T2-style image and b0 unwarping
- Linear and non-linear transformation to MNI152 3mm space
WARNING
Some of the control participants included in this release were also previously released as part of the NewYork_a dataset in the 1000 Functional Connectomes classic collection.
Consequently, this dataset should should NOT be combined with the NewYork_a dataset. Combination will be possible at a future date, when the NewYork_a dataset is incorporated into INDI.
